About
Created in 2010 and Legalized in 2019
The History of HASD.
Wirmvem Prosper developed the vision of social entrepreneurship in 2010 after working on numerous community engagements with women’s groups in the Mbam Valley Area, especially BONGNYANG CIG of Mbam Wooh, through his mother, Monica Visi. Mbam Wooh is located in Nkum Sub-Division, Bui Division of the North West region of Cameroon. In 2011, the name VISI Foundation was nurtured in honor of Monica Visi, with the objective of empowering women through capacity building in various aspects. This initiative was done in collaboration with Derick Safe. In 2015, the name was changed to the Organization for Rural Empowerment and Social Solidity (ORESS), and more objectives were introduced. The promotion of UN SDGs began in collaboration with Mr. Nsadzedze Franklin and Mr. Tombir Stanley. Although we started the legalization process, it did not go through. In 2018, Prosper met his mentor, Mr. Praveen Kumar Sood, in India, where he freely accepted mentorship for this vision. Many other people embraced the vision in different countries, and with the collaboration of Mr. Vetimeh Emmanuel and Mr. Kindzeka Collins, the name Hope for Africa Through Sustainable Development (HASD) was born. It was legalized in March 2019 in Yaoundé under registration number 00000250/ARDA/JO6/A2/ALPAS/APPB. In due time, the head office was moved from Yaoundé to Douala, Cameroon. Many African countries embraced the vision, and activities took place in Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, and Togo before the outbreak of COVID-19. The Nigerian chapter is already registered under registration number CAC/IT/NO138454.
